Yes anytime when you are ready is fine with me. Are you going to the Cosford meet on the 10Th? I'll be there then as well. The guys at York had a fiddle and confirmed my original diagnosis that the issue is the signal and the DVB-T box works fine otherwise. The bottom line was no they couldn't get it working either. Back to the drawing board I guess. Thanks mate see you whenever it suites you. my email is mredd AT mredd.me.uk if you need to contact me Edd Now wondering why my PM's ain't working???

Hi All
I am thinking of fitting a double din Xtrons to my 53 plate 75 1.8 turbo can anyone tell me what i require to fit this unit I know i need a double din fascia adapter plate but i am unsure if i require a double din mounting cage , and do i require any wiring adapter from the ISO connector to the original vehicle harness . will the steering wheel controls work with this unit ? It is not a straightforward fit but dont let that put you off, you will need some sort of cage which you can now buy for the Xtrons or you can easily make something up youself like me and a few others have, see the pictures i took below when fitting one at a Nano meet in Doncaster earlier in the year. When you have removed the existing unit you need to break off some of the plastic trim right at the back of the opening otherwise the Xtrons will not fit. Whether you buy a cage or make one yourself it stillneeds to be fixed as a support for the unit. The later Xtrons units have steering wheel control which connects to your existing wires in the car and once you have removed your existing unit you should find an ISO plug in the car wiring just below the opening all ready to be connected to the Xtrons, the other leads from teh Xtrons are for reversing camera, i pod connection etc. The Xtrons units are not standard size so when you buy a facia of e bay you will need to trm off the top bar to make it fit, we have all had to do that but you cannot see it under the eyebrow. Finally if you want the walnut cover it is a DAS type double Din when ordering from Simon http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...o+meet&page=21 and here is the facia that the DAS walnut fits although you dont need all the kit just tha facia which the seller used to sell on its own but he is currently showing only one left http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ROVER-75-M...item2308eedd65

Hi Steveo,
TD717G same model as i have just installed.I managed to get the steering wheel controls working first time. The manual that comes with it is a bit tricky to understand but xtrons do have a forum which i found out to be helpful. The TD717G latest models have had some updates, the sat nav software does not come with camera alerts which is a problem they are looking into. Also when connecting the steering wheels wire from the original loom the instruction manual says connect the earth wire to ground on the xtrons uinit. But the unit no longer has a grnd connection so i earthed mine to the case itself. Have fun with the install. Just an add on i have just purchased an xtrons single din for my own 75 and await delivery. Best Regards Graham |
