Basically not needed every time, but a good idea to change it now and then. I have done oil changes were a new sump washer was desperately needed, without having a new one

Only if it is copper though.

I have annealed the washer on my sump plug countless times with no problem.

If it is an aluminium washer and you need to re-use it then just smear the last couple of threads of the bolt and top side of the washer with some Instant Gasket and you will be fine.

The answer is yes you should, as it may well drip if the old one is reused.

As above. I use Red Hermatite on my washer. 15 oil changes and on my second washer. Perfectly ok to use the washer again if in good condition.Never had any leaks.

You may as well for the cost here is five years worth, unless you change your oil every six months then you only have 2.5 years worth Arctic
