So ...

Kumho, Falken, Nexen = good

Kenda = OK

Rotalla = no thanks (though the 75 boys with 16" wheels seem to think they're great)

?

I run Kenda tyres, but they are good. I run to Methlick in them from Aberdeen and chuck the car about but they do break away at times in a wheel spin, but you get used to it.

All i know is my Bridgestone Potenzas are grippy (if a little overwhelmed by the synergy sometimes!), but noisy as hell.

These hideous things were on my ZT when I bought it - I drove to Portsmouth a few days after I bought it. I went through a thunderstorm just south of Oxford and frankly the handling was dangerous. I replaced all four as soon as I got home. I now have Maxxis MA - V1s and find them pretty grippy in all conditions.

Canna be too bad if you can get round some of those corners on the road from Oldmeldrum at any kind of speed ... or the Ythanbank road, either.

Currently looking at a set of Nexen CP643A delivered and fitted for £385 all-in, off tyretraders.co.uk

The Rotallas arent much kop in the dry, the occasional feeling of car letting go at the rear. In the wet they became downright dangerous. Roundabouts become a tricky hazard even at low speeds. I've almost lost it twice in the wet during slower than average driving. This is with approximately 6mm of tread.

As soon as I can afford it I'm switching back to Kumhos. Had them on all my cars and loved them. The zt handled better on them too.
I've also got Rotallas fitted. In the dry I find them ok. Snow & ice the car stays at home though. In the wet I've not had any issues with them, but I don't blast along everywhere though!

I didn't know it was a factory option. You learn something every day.

I'm currently doing 120 miles a day to work and back. I can't afford to blast along anywhere now mate!
