When dik mk1 become mk2?
Probably been answered before but I'm just curious when the mk2 came out?
My 04 cdti is a mk 1 (with later fuse box, no additional wiring and blue dash lights so it's a bit of a miss match) is on an 04 plate rolled of the production line 9/1/04 registered 1/3/04. This vehicle was the 13,086th ZT to run off the production line, out of 18,894 This vehicle was the 2,005th ZT CDTi + (135) to be made out of 4,184 This vehicle was the 74th ZT in Black Paint C.O.B. (code: PAK) to be made out of 132 Black Paint C.O.B. ZTs I've see face lift 04 cars so was just wondering what date did the last mk1 roll off the line just wondering were mine sits in terms of mk1s Thanks Scott |

The facelift models came out in February 2004, just before the 04 registrations were released on 1st March. Based on that, I would say the last mk1s were January 04, there aren't many mk 1s past a 53 plate, obviously yours, and I knew of about 2 others. If you drop a pm to Reebs, the head moderator, he may be able to give you the exact details, if you really want to know.

The change was a result of 'project drive' which took place over a period of time, the obvious one one was the change to the front bumper and headlights, but some internal changes - fuse panel etc. took place much earlier.

There is an exact chassis number change point that I have somewhere in my factory notes. There are however a few discrepancies with a the earlier facelift cars. My last tourer was one of the early ones but still had mk1 clocks fitted

Two different projects - we have a Mk1 pre Project Drive, a Mk1 post Project Drive, and a Facelift 75.

I have relays on my January 2005 75 V8 are dated 1997 (all the green ones!). I think towards the end they were scrabbling around for bits to build cars when their suppliers weren't. David Last edited by dbt01; 11th September 2017 at 14:46.. |
