Default Rubbing Strips

The NSR rubbing strip on my car has just managed to part company with one of its mounting clips, and is now waving somewhat loose. I'm mostly worried about water ingress through the clip, now that there's no tension on it or the strip to keep water out.

Of course, my car's a Contemporary, which means that while I could just hit the Bay of E, I'll end up with an annoyingly mismatched set of strips, as the Contemporary has them body coloured, where almost everything else ever seems to be chrome.

Rimmers have "primer" coloured strips for £52 or thereabouts, but then I need to get the thing colour matched to JQW.

Am I probably going to be cheaper trying to get a full set of chrome ones, or should I just live with one odd strip?

Or failing that, did any of the ZTs have body coloured strips and was JQW ever a ZT paint code?

Is it a clip thats broken or one of the bonded on pieces that fit with a screw and a nut from the inside?

Easier to spray a chrome one in your colour.

Unfortunately the clip that's gone is one of the ones which is moulded into the strip - a flat piece of plastic that actually goes through the side of the car, and it's sheared away entirely from the strip.

I'll see about repainting a chrome one - be worth a try.

I had this happen although my strips are chrome already. You can either get a proprietary brand of butch adhesive (Gorilla Gum is my favourite) and stick the offending piece back on or, if you don't mind losing the body-coloured strips, full sets of chrome strips are available on a certain on line auction site for about £30 (at least that's where I got mine). The nuts and soft washers are available from Rimmers but they work out quite expensive once the postage has been added.
