Default If MG Rover Still Existed?

I see posts now and again about if MG Rover still existed etc etc

So my question, would you buy a brand new ZT / 75 today for lets say for between £19,000 to £23,000 (non V8)

Yes or no?

Truthfully now!

Oh, for finance terms, I reckon it would be about £300 a month on one of these PCP plans, £2,000 deposit, minimum value in 3 years of £8000

Erm, no, there's no way I could afford such a car. If I had the cash to spare, yes I would, I'd ride test all that was available for the same price and settle for a 75

I think we have to do it on our lives/finances as they are today, for the poll to work

Well truthfully, my car wieghed in at just short of 24K. Second hand at twelve months old it would have been an attractive purchase.

At the time when you could get a new 3 Sieries, C Class or a A4 around the same price new, the MG ZT doesn't seem as attractive.

Sorry to be blunt, but I think a few of us would agree.

I had to vote no because I can't afford ANY new car, let alone a Rover!!!

NB. In actual fact I would buy any 'New' car, even if one could afford to as I believe it is a total waste of money... Rather buy secondhand anyday!.

I would.

I'd love a newly built Rover 75 Connoisseur SE.

I would have to see what new colours were available before choosing the finish.

If you sat down and worked out how much you have spent purchasing theses cars over the years, you would probably break out in a sweat.

That true.

Not many people have ever made money on a new car.

It's an old but true saying "There are no pockets in shrouds"

I would. Mine is now 12 years old and although it has low milage it is still as tight and quite as any of its German rivals. Its also a very nice place to be. I never get tired of it.
In saying that the only one ot it's rivals I would buy would be the Merc. AUDI has to be one of the most bland boring cars made. There just isn't any styling at all. I have never liked Bmw although I have had a few including a 2002 and 2000 touring, but could never take to them. They have no personality. I have had many Mercedes's and loved them but not in the same way I love the 75, well apart from my 300CE it was great (wish I never sold it).

So with all that I would buy a new 75. I've had great pleasure with my 75's and ZT. And hope to do so for awhile yet if all goes well.
When I do have get a different every day car it just might be a Jaguar for a change.
