Default 29 August 2013- International Crowns Day!

Due to the unfair slurs on the poor old Crown alloy ("hate things" "dustbin lids" "awful things" etc), its about time we Crown lovers showed such misguided ones the errror of thier ways!

Meteors? Pah! Serpents? Dont start me. 11 spokes? So yesterday's news!

So here a shout out for the overlooked, classy Crown! Here's my contribution - feel free to add yours below.

P.S For any Meteor.Serpant/11spoke owners - just joking, I like them all.

Nothing wrong with Crowns, look perfect on early models. It's a shame they were not made an inch bigger.

Crowns are the most beautiful and elegent wheels available for the Rover 75. The size also means that they produce the best ride comfort too - these two attributes therefore make them twice as good as any other style of wheel.

This is the aforementioned gorgeous Crowns on my short-lived Duotone:

I really like Crowns on a 75. They have a sophistication which is lacking from the other wheels. However, they only look absolutely at home on a Cowley car, to my mind.

An aesthetically pleasing alternative to Crowns

David, I deliberately left the locking wheel nuts off, hoping someone would nick em, but surprise, surprise they did nt. I wonder why?

I agree with Brian... if you can't afford cheapy space savers... you could use polyfilla in your crown wheels to fill the silly holes and spray it black. THAT would look more a space saver then. Well worth the effort!
