Default Rover 75 CDT Connie Versus Chrysler 300C CRD

Ontop of having a complete new clutch fitted on my 75 a short while ago, the steering rack decided to start throwing out fluid at an amazing amout of 1 litre every 3 days. So I booked it in for a recon rack, new wishbones, drop links & track rod ends.

Luckily, my friend was going on holiday the same time my car was being done & he said I could borrow his 3lt diesel Chrysler 300C..Great, I always wanted one of them, but whilst I using it, I was slightly dissapointed.

The Chrysler is a big car & you can feel this when driving it (not a bad thing,I have always had big cars)

Looks:
I think the rover is a great looking car but I slightly like the look of the 300C more.

Interior:
The 300c interior is a nice place to be but it is plasticy, the Rover wins hands down, the driving comfort from the seats are very simular.

On the road:
In the power department, the 300C leaves the 2.0ltr Rover in the dust, the silky smooth 3.0 ltr engine is superb... Both cars drive very well but I think the Rover feels more sure footed (could be that I'm more used to the Rover)

Economy:
My mate says the the 300C averages 34MPG while I get a constant 40MPG + mostly in heavy traffic.

Conclusion:
Would I get rid of my Rover to buy a 300C..No, the main reason is the the 300C will cost about £6 k more & for the small plus's the 300C gets its not worth paying out anywhere near the extra money.
Would I buy a 300C for the same value (£1200 ish) as my Rover..Yes I would, the power alone & the looks of the 300C would sway me..But I still love my money pit Rover

Another 300C fan here. I'd swap my zt for one tomorrow if I had the cash.

I like the 300c but the prices have a long way to fall and my ZT has a long mileage left before is want to part with it!

When I decided my ZTT needed replacement, the only car I considered was indeed the Chrysler 300 Touring. From a point of view of straight line performance there is really no contest, there is no substitute for cubic capacity.
Mine was a 2008 MY and was really very well equipped and with a very good GPS. Very comfortable car for long journeys but too soft on twisty roads, also a little to big for Italian traffic. It's a good car, but I prefer driving the ZTT.
I still got both, one has to go and I think I will keep the ZTT.

i had one as a hire car for a while. one day after driving through my old home town i spotted a text message from a friend, it simply said:

"you look like a pimp in that thing!"

no one ever said that about my 75:xmas-smiley-029:
