Default Brushed Aluminium ZT dash

Just finished and fitted my brushed aluminium dash (with chrome trimmed dials) to my Mk2 ZT 190 SE so thought I'd post some pics:

A little more cheery than before!:

For the dials I used the chrome ringed fascias from Rover 75 items.

I bought a pre project drive early ZT dash, metal backed, gloss rhodium with flush airbag lettering. I wrapped this with a high quality 'easy use' brushed aluminium vinyl wrap from ebay. It is similar to 3M in that it contains tiny perforations to counter bubbling and stretched with the aid of a hair dryer. After stretching & wrapping the edges over I used parcel tape to further secure the rear of the panels:

Pretty similar techniques I've used to trim my kit car with vinyl:

Originally I was just going to use a gloss silver wrap (like some R53 Mini Coopers) to match my Starlight silver exterior but when I saw the brushed aluminium I thought it would look nicer.

I'm going to do the gear lever surround also but leave the rest of the remaining matt rhodium items as they are, sometimes I think, less is more..

Time for a break!

This is exactly what im planning, ive ordered a small sample of 3M aluminium wrap to see if i like it. Still unsure if id prefer that to graphite carbon.

Do you have any sharper pictures? Im concerned it might be to bright.

Looks good, fine job. Maybe a bit bright for some, what colour is your car? I'd like to see a close up to show the finish of the brushed effect.

Looks very very nice. Top job. Parcel tape tends to dry out though. Maybe use a 3m tape instead? Would you post some better quality pictures?

Nice one

Really like the look of that!

Also, what does the rest of the kit car look like ?

Cheers all.

ZT is Starlight silver so it matches quite well. I will get some proper pics at the weekend, the ones I have are from a camera phone so you just see a silver glare as opposed to what is actually quite a matt finish.

It's pretty much the same as the brushed aluminium dash trim offered on BMW M Sports and Audi S-lines.

Kit car is a Haldane Austin Healey replica (I didn't build it, just refurbished it).

I want to get mine wrapped in carbon fibre, but i want the cup holder section and the front of the ACU done as well.

but to be honest i have wondering if i should wrap it in blue as i have the blue kidneys on the seats and i was wondering if it would suit

That looks really good. Loving the Healey replica too

I'm trying to make up my mind between silver or piano black for my dash.
