I do that too it saves wear on the bolsters

I miss the remote Lazy lock the 800 series had.
Why did MGR go backwards on that function???
It would not have cost any more to incorporate it into the BCU programming during production

As for holding the unlock button down....................
Open boot
or move the seats ................still can't decide which I prefer.
(both functions would have been good)
Think they got that right on the facelifts as most folk probably want the boot open more often than moving the seats

Now that's an idea. Route a switch to the switch panel below radio!

That way I can check if those lights that just pulled in behind me, belong to a police car! I do occasionally like to feel the torque ;-)

Most of my gripes have already been mentioned - ability to control intermittent wiper speed rather than have an automatic sensor that wipes when it's clear and doesn't wipe when the screen is covered in rain, and a cupholder.

Also how about a seatbelt that doesn't catch on and rub away the interior trim fabric as it comes out the seatpost?

you can get the driver side cup holder, they change hands for 40 quid ish, if you have an auto they will rub against your left leg as well.... not worth it really.

If anybody really needs one, there is a chance it's cheaper to look for one in NL. We drive on the other side, so the regular cupholder is on (what you call) your driversside. Some of these go for about 10 euro's. With shipping included you might be looking at 20 or 25 euro.

Well after 12 years of 75 ownership I decided to waste my money before the kids do and moved to a new 328 estate and the overall impression is what might have been if BMW has persisted with Rover. All the soppy Leyland boys ever did was found ways to make the car cheaper and never bothered with making it better.

If BMW had stayed in charge the 75 would have been improved every year with at least one major redesign. What the 3 series does now is what a BMW 75 would now be delivering. Now the key not only remembers the seat position and mirrors but also the climate control settings, favourite radio channels and a raft of other things. The car has a head up display that displays the speed, sat nav instructions, the current speed limited as well at the 'phone and multimedia. Never used the voice on the sat nav as the instructions are is projected into your line of sight. The car is also connected to the internet for traffic information, weather and general surfing. You can connect your PC to the car to transfer destinations and routes. It is well integrated with the iPhone ( and the poor man's imitation iphone from Korea) for contacts, messaging, music and more. The car's performance is better than a ZT260 yet it is about 20% more fuel efficient than my 75 2.5 auto.

What might have been!

Heated windscreen from Jaguar & Ford.
It was my old Mondeo's only redeeming feature.
