Default Sickly standard alloys

The more i see R75,s, whether on the road or in the gallery, i,m bemused with the disgusting unimaginative standard alloy wheels that adorn these fantastic cars. It seems to me that the designers of these innovative, award winning auto,s put all their energy into the profile of these cars and the alloys, in all guises, we,re just an afterthought, seemingly downgrading thses vehicles.
The Crowns, Unions, Cosmics and i,m sure there is loads more are dreadful on the eye and don,t enhance the gorgeous curves of the 75.
How many members have stuck a set of ZT alloys or aftermarket alloys on and improved the looks,,,period

I had Contours (still got 2 sets) but am currently running on Unions. Why? Because I like them. There are after-market sets available which I would deem as hideous (Yet to see any that would appeal to me). There are geniune Rover ones which I would place in the same category

As for differences in radii........ I would go no more than 16" because of road conditions in my locale.... 17-19" might suit your area or cities, but in cash strapped rural areas...... forget it - the road conditions would wreck them in no time.

The age old adage of.... "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" applies methinks

I like the wheels I have, they keep the car body up off the road and go round so I can drive the car about.. Brill I recon.

As an MG owner on 18" wheels, I would have to agree!

Unions would be the smallest wheel that I would consider on a Mk 1 75, then Meteors, with Serpents being my favourite!

Mine with 16" OZ alloys. Think they look good, but 17" would look even better...

In my opinion the 75 should have never been fitted with 15 inch wheels.
At least 16 or even better 17.
Tyre size is also quite important as the 225 45 17 fitted as an option still didn't fill the arch properly. The facelift 75 was much better when tyre size switched to 215 50 17. My favourite are Meteors and find the majority of aftermarket wheels rather horrible.Anyway a 75 with 18 inch Eleven spokes looks gorgeous.

From the standard range Unions are pleasant enough & suit the Mk1 but I'm not a fan of Crowns, Comets & Contours. Mk2s look good on Star Spokes & the standard Connoisseur rims (forget the name) Fork Spokes are ok when they're in nice condition but look terrible when slightly tatty.

Then there's the oddball Y spokes & Cross spokes which remind me of cheap wheeltrims

Serpents or Meteors look good on the right car & of course if you're very lucky Vikings or Vortexes (should that be vortices?) are fantastic looking wheels

I like all the ZT wheels with the exception of Mirage
