Former President of Italy Rover 75
Francesco Cossiga was President of Italy 1985-1992.
In 2001 he acquired for his personal use a Rover 75 Connoisseur 2 litre petrol in Royal blue with sandstone trim and high line satnav. The registration documents show his name as the first owner. Cossiga died in 2010 and the car was acquired by the police officer responsible for his security. The car is now for sale in Rome and a good friend of mine is negotiating a deal. I'll keep you posted.. Luciano |

I havent's seen the car yet and I am judging only from some fairly poor pictures.
The car is standard spec and needs a little bit of tlc. There are however two very small plugs just behind the gearchange lever. We understand that they were used for a portable siren and for a flashing blue light..This two items could be very useful in the italian traffic.. I'll be more specific when (hopefully) we can lay our hands on the car. Luciano |

Luciano,
I remember meeting you; was it at Longbridge on the factory tour organised by the German Rover 75 club? Great to read of the Italian President's good taste in cars! To choose a Rover above an Alfa Romeo or Lancia is quite something. Looking forward to more news. Regards, Simon.
