Default Removing masking tape adhesive marks

Anyone know the best stuff to get masking tape adhesive off the car paintwork gently with?

I left it on a bit longer than I should have between coats and the patches of adhesive are proving awkward to remove.

Thanks

As above WD40, Isopropyl Alcohol or Sticky Stuff Remover: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/404270622...mis&media=COPY

Petrol works great but you probably shouldn't go spreading it over your paintwork!

I've always found methylated spirits (the mauve stuff) excellent at this type of thing.

When I had my first car (a MKII Escort in 1995) where the previous owner used sellotape on the glass for the 'for sale' signs it had left a sticky mess, my Mum said to use methylated spirits and it worked a treat.

I had to remove a body stripe from a car recently and it got rid of the sticky mark left behind.

It sort of melts it so put some on a cloth and just keep rubbing the sticky mark and it disappears.

Thank you all for the suggestions which I'm sure are all effective.

Went with the WD40 as I had some to hand out the shed and its worked perfectly.

Cheers
