I was just about to check DVLC.
It was re-imported from the states by US airman and converted to right hooker. Hence K reg but '67 year of manufacture if memory serve. It was the love of my life for 12 years, dates are all a bit hazy now

The vehicle details for GTB 478K are:

Date of Liability 01 04 1989
Date of First Registration 22 11 1971
Year of Manufacture 1968
Cylinder Capacity (cc) 2498CC
CO2 Emissions Not Available
Fuel Type Petrol
Export Marker Not Applicable
Vehicle Status Unlicensed
Vehicle Colour GREEN

Might still be around somewhere
Friend of mine has some super eight film of it and me with hair.
I've got some negatives knocking about somewhere might try and dig them out

You'll have to upload it! Hopefully it is sitting in a nice warm barn.

Would you believe I just found a couple of negs I took for classic car insurance purposes. Minor problem, they are on disc film. I'll have to see whether I can get a print somehow.

Here you go Phil. best I could do at short notice, found a couple of prints in among hundreds. Poor quality pic and low end scanner.

I had a set of these on it at the time, very quick in a straight line. Tripple 40 DCOE Webbers, I had chrome trumpets rather than the chrome pancakes

The sound from this set up really did make the hair stand up on the back of your neck.
These Mickey Mouse ZT V8s don't come close. I would guess the Dreadnought supercharged version would come close in the acoustic department.

From the sublime to the ridiculous.

I was chatting to the lads at Burghley about it today.

American spec TR5. There are quite a few here in Sweden. A school friend of mines dad had the dealership in Bournemouth (Ragget Motors). We used to have a fag behind their house sometimes. And George would supply the Du Morrier cigs that his mum smoked. This was about May-June 68. We heard a car drive into their drive once. A real roary sound we hadn´t heard before. It was his mum, just picked up the replacement for her old TR4. She was scared stiff of it, too quick with the injection on it. She went back to the 4. I was offered a proper TR5 about 10 years ago. Maroon Red with all the bits. It was a very good price but I just didn´t have the cash The TR 4-5 was the best shape but I´d rather have the Stag

Love those old "proper" TRs they went so sadly wrong with the 7
I got a call a few years ago (when I still had a phone) from a mate of mine who had been asked by someone "Do you know anyone I can trust to sort my brakes out?" so he put him in touch with me & I popped over to Gateshead to have a look & it was the most stunning Inca Yellow TR6 I think I've ever seen, anyway I assesed the problem which turned out to be the master cylinder which he said wasn't very old but I pointed out that it was probably old stock & the seals had perished. So I ordered a kit & went back the following weekend & fitted it & bled the brakes up & he took me for a high speed test drive. When I pointed out he shouldn't be going so hard until he knows the brakes feel right he said "I'm very confident in your abilities you come highly reccommended" Anyway it was thoroughly enjoyable tearing round the back roads of County Durham & I came back looking like this
What a car & what a driver
