Dog logic
We have two border collies, a 10 yo male and his smaller giddier 3yo step sister.
We try to give both their dinners in the kitchen, in those used plastic frozen meal containers. He always eats his without any issues, what ever he is given. Sometime they get our left overs, sometimes ordinary dog foods (tinned meat and dried biscuit). If its our left overs she clears her dish without any fuss, but give her dog food and then the trouble begins..... She eats a bit off the top, then either leaves the rest or tries to carry it off to the living room and their shared bed. When she tries to do this, she often leaves a trail of spilled food, so she gets shouted at. Left in the kitchen unattended he will help her out by eating it, so we lift it up out of the way. Last night I lifted it out of the way, she has been re-offered it a few times since then, but wouldn't touch it in the kitchen and repeated a few times this morning - He is upstairs sound asleep, just me and her up and about. So rather than have her make a mess trying to carry it to her bed, I carried it for her. All the food gone in seconds, once placed on the bed

Ha! That punch line worked perfectly ...
Dogs and pets in general are sensational creatures.

When still a baby and away in the tight confines of our caravan, they had a bit of an argument over their food dishes. Now each will allow the other to take their empty dish and give it a last good lick out, so I don't think the behaviour is concerns of the other stealing the food, plus when given human food, she happily just gets on with eating it.
