Neat little oscilloscope!
Probably of no use to most of you, but I thought this was a rather neat and very cheap gadget....
It is basically a colour screen MP3 player which has been converted to a useful and very portable storage oscilloscope known as the 'DSO Nano'. It has a maximum frequency of 1Mhz and maximum voltage of 80v p to p, so more than adequate for car and audio use. The hardware and software of the unit is what is known as 'open source', basically developed by the people using it. More details from http://www.seeedstudio.com/depot/dso...bfc85157ee9167 The forum - http://www.seeedstudio.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=12 Ready built copies of the design can be found on ebay, for not a lot (£26)

excellent, I never get tired of 'scoping' stuff - the injectors on the latest diesel engines are fascinating

Arrived today and I must say I'm very impressed with it. It seems to be just the job for diagnosing Can-bus and similar bus problems and ABS sensor faults. I've always been rather put off from getting my CRT scope out to the car to diagnose faults due to the size and weight, but this little beast is not only more capable than my 100Mhz bench scope on lower frequencies, but it slips into a shirt pocket and is battery powered. There are various videos on YouTUBE showing how to diagnose car ignition faults too.

UPDATE
Out of nothing more than curiosity - yesterday I tested this scope out on the K-bus in its triggered storage scope mode, connected at the FBH's K-bus connection. It works a treat, you can capture the signal generated by just tapping the bonnet sensor, or any of the doors etc.. Unfortunately the ebay price of the DSO nano has almost doubled since I first mentioned it back in March.
