The epidemic has arrived in France.
Mine does it fairly frequently, very often when driving over a sleeping policeman (we have a lot of those here, usually after their lunchbreak). Haven't managed to find the cause yet, and a T4 wouldn't be any use because to register the condition needs to be on for around 15 seconds. I just live with it as there is no effect to power etc. on the diesels. |

Hi All,
Yep, it is an epidemic !!! mine flashes intermittently once or twice a day - but the cause is a faulty accelerator pedal sensor . This I know for sure and it's not surprising, opened mine up and the contact wires between the variable resistance board and connector are only spring loaded !!!!! Never seen such a poor design of throttle sensor in ALL my life !!!! New pedal just arrived so hopefully never see this engine light again light, will fit it tonight. Is the throttle sensor a common denominator between our cars or are they all different ?????? Hi Anna, did you get your tester yet ?

Hi Mick,
Rave says: if the Accelerator Pedal Position fails, the ECM increase the idle speed to 1.250 rev/min and the engine speed will not increase when the accelerator is depressed.. hoping it helps a bit . Looks like an electrical prob though;check HP sensor contacts and others. Mike Last edited by FrenchMike; 10th May 2012 at 17:51.. |

Well mine came on again today going over a speedbump, can't be a co-incidence??? And yes, my tester arrived but haven't had the chance to test it yet will hopefully have a play tonight.
