Out of curiosity Jim - are you using a stabiliser and if so, which type - blade or the built-in one on the hitch?
I agree with Thomas - that outfit looks absolutely superb

Thanks guys, I'm chuffed to bits with it myself.

I'm on the standard "Alco" stabilizer as fitted from the factory. It seems to work well and one thing is you do not grease the ball so as to allow the friction pads do their work.

Yup - ruined many a pair of trousers by walking past a well greased towball!
I 'forgot' to put my blade stabiliser on when I came home from Derbyshire - and I have to say I couldn't feel any difference. I think the Rover 75 is a heavy enough car to absorb any minor "twitches" from the 'van - unlike my previous Picasso which was as light and twitchy as a kite! Having towed for around 30 years, the Rover is the most stable vehicle I have ever towed with.

On my last caravan, a Ci Sprite Major 16 years ago I towed it with my Vitesse without any need for a stabiliser. The suspension was so firm it just didn't need one and with the V8 power hills were no problem.

Got to agree - I keep forgetting to engage the friction plates on my 'blade type'.. the only way I can tell is I get a slight creak maneuvering at junctions if I have remembered!
