Default Question for anyone that has Sky

I have cable at home, so I don't know the answer.

At work we have Sky, the full package, no Sky+ or HD etc. Just the bog
standard Sky box.

For the past 2 or 3 weeks it's started turning itself off, by that I mean
going into stand-by. It never used to. I could leave it on a certain
channel, and it would still be on that channel 12 hours later.

Has Sky sent an 'upgrade' down the phone line, which turns the receiver off
after a certain amount of time, or is the receiver about to croak?

Thanks

One of the firmware updates a while back added am auto off. If there if no use of the remote for a couple of hours afte midnight it'll turn off to save power ie pander to hippies. You can turn it off though.

Just turn the annoying facility off, only put there to placate these save the Planet types.
Most annoying if routed through a distribution amp to watch a film in Bedroom!

Ah-ha! So that's what happened to my PVR recording last Friday!!?? Got back from the pub and thought, "Oh, we can watch that programme I recorded earlier". Halfway through, a 'message' appeared saying the Sky box was going to switch off. Bit naff I thought as how would anyone wishing to record a whole series, or record favourite shows whilst on holiday, do so? Now I know....

I assume that to switch this 'feature' off, one has to do so in the settings? In which case I shall do the necessary when I get home later....
