Almost any thin, flexible rod will do to clear the drains out of debris. The end of the rod should appear below the car, pushing any debris out with it. Then you can rinse them out with a little low pressure water from a hose. They need to be checked frequently, especially if there are falling leaves, or if the car is parked under/near trees. You can buy 'gutter guards' for not a lot, from Jules, which will help prevent leaves getting in.
