Default Joseph Holts Acquire CAT & LION - Closed for Refurb

It is re-opening "in Spring".

Watch this space and see

Long hoped-for improvement imminent?

If it's still closed at the beginning of March, any alternative venue suggestions?

I'm sure Holts will re-open the pub, they are a pretty pro-active group. Meantime - didn't we previously use The Partridge on Tarporley Road, just south of the M56 J10 (or don't they want us anymore now it's refurbished?). There's also The Stretton Fox even closer, north side of the M56 J10.

Hi. Thanks, but we considered The Partridge (formerly semi-derelict Hollow Tree) and The Stretton Fox, five or six years ago after The Hollow Tree closed.
With both, the cost of food is an issue and parking / interior crowding at the Fox are also negative points.
I've been looking at The Thorn in Appleton Thorn, just down the road from Stretton, as a possible place to try in March. On Tuesday night, they have a meal + drink offer for £10 - £15, which is a popular price range for the regulars at the meetings.
Cheers

Sounds OK Robert, failing the Cat & Lion being open or other suggestions it's worth giving it a try.

Sounds good Robert and not too far away until the Cat & Lion reopens.
