A Note Of Gratitude

Hi Everyone,
I'm a new member to the club having bought my Rover 75 saloon a couple of weeks ago and have found the content on the forum to be invaluable in helping me buy the right car and in how I need to maintain it.

Last week I fell victim to a scam where a bogus club member tried to rob me for a pair of Torpedo badges I listed as wanted here on the site.

I was fortunate in that I spotted the scam before the PayPal payment went through and didn't lose my hard earned money.

But what I would like to do here is publicly recognise a couple of club members who helped me out.

So.... a big 'THANK YOU' to Reebs who did his own research and took the action to remove the bogus member from the club and issue a warning to all members.

Also.... a big 'THANK YOU' to Elroy who subsequently contacted me and posted me a pair of Torpedo badges for no charge.

Its clear from my personal experience that the club is made up of genuine people who love their cars and want to help others in loving theirs.

Keep up the good work everyone.!

Have to agree with all the above,,,,,,,we need the "Thanks" button back for things like this..

Glad to hear you got your money back. Shame the scammers have started targeting the forums.

This forum is a fantastic resource, a real wealth of information. The members are also very knowledgeable and helpful. Owning and maintaining a 20-ish year old car with aging complex mechanical and electrical systems can be a difficult sometimes, but the club makes it so much less stressful and less expensive.
