Default Ice warning

Evening all,

This will be my first winter with my 75, first of all I'm hoping my battery is ok in the sub zero conditions, and does the 75 have any ice warning indicator?

The weather for my region tonight is -2 (Ipswich ,Suffolk)

Well I know my KV6 does 'cos when you boot it in second it does a 360!

Only jesting. No there is no specific ice warning except for the temp read out, which hopefully should be enough

Never had a problem with the battery and car has started first time, every time, even when it's been like this

Mine do start well, the car is 5 years old now and i don't think its the original battery so the odds are good, does the original battery have MG or Rover written all over it?

Thats an assume picture, perhaps we should have a competition for the most winterly picture including the Rover.

Batteries are good. Not marked MGR at all. My car will be 6 on 6 December and afaik is on it's original battery still.

Good idea for a caption competition -we should do it with brand new pics as soon as we get the first snow

Yeah good idea, mine will be 6 December 24th and done 36k,they may of followed each other of the line at Cowley then, Lates are doing the 6year service on the 17th dec (Sunday) including the cam belts, they reckon they can complete it in a day, they reckon they can do the cam belts in 3 hours plus alt A/C belt (I think from memory) it will be very interesting to see, allot of the members reckon they are really good so I'll be given them a try, I would be amazed to see them do the cam belts in three hours.

If your car is 6 on 24 December then, like R40, it was Longbridge built. Production stopped at Cowley in Summer 2000 and resumed at Longbridge in October 2000.

Lates and Pete did my cambelt over the Summer. Job was a good'un

OK your car was built at Cowley (the 11th letter of the vin represents assembly plant, M = Cowley, D = Longbridge) . so your car will have been part of the Cowley built stock inherited by MGR at the time of transfer and so already more than 6 years since build
