Symphony : Sub-Woofer + Aux In Upgrade Advice
Hi All,
I have a 2003 PFL saloon with the Symphony head unit + Low Line Nav + Glovebox CD Autochanger fitted. I’ve upgraded the stock speakers front/rear and still lack some bass, so am happy to spend ~£100 on an underseat sub-woofer. I want to keep the original look of the car interior so keeping the Symphony head unit is a must along with use of the steering wheel audio controls. I would also like if possible to fit a 3.5mm aux in socket inside the cubby for connecting an iPhone for music. I have tried one of those Bluetooth cassette adaptors and the sound quality is poor. I spotted this for sale when browsing, anyone got experience of it? https://www.incarconnections.co.uk/r...2003-ipod.html So I’m looking for recommendations for the sub-woofer and the aux in please? Also can anyone recommend a good fitter for these upgrades? Cheers, Dave. Last edited by Steeleyscoot; 10th May 2023 at 22:18.. |

I have a KSC-SW11 under the passenger seat which works well and fills in the bottom end. Easy enough to fit and it has a high level input so you can splice off the speaker wires for an input if you have no line level out from your head unit.
It has a wired remote which i have sitting in the centre arm rest cubby. Appears Halfrauds are stocking them at mo.. https://www.halfords.com/technology/...Vhg-Q7YrM8gEMM Even cheaper here https://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/pro...16ZcSsdN9CiQlY

That adaptor looks interesting. I guess it fakes the signals coming from the CD player so the head unit thinks a CD is playing? So... I wonder if you can use the CD player at all, or would you have to plug/unplug? Would be interesting to hear if anyone has one.

Description gives you your answer "Rover AUX adapter connects via CD changer connector at rear of stereo. CD changer cannot be connected at the same time"
