Have you tried the key in the boot?

If no luck on that one you will have to enter the engine bay to access the bonnet release cables. The subject is far to sensitive to post a public forum. Send a moderator a pm for details.

Can't you open it with the key in the door?.

Sure it's the right key?
Sounds strange.
Has that key ever worked on the door lock?

The key not working is a regular occurrence, because the lock gets used infrequently it gets stuck up and doesn't allow the key to go in far enough, give it a few good thrusts in and out and it should clear and allow the key to go right into the lock.

the key in the lock is purely mechanical so battery status should not matter...
there is a linkage which may have failed though, but to have both go at the same time??

sure it's the right key set??

as far as i know keys are the originals. i have wd40,d to no avail and the secret way in is proving a touch difficult. i will try again tomorrow and failing that will have to go in through the front grill
