You are correct Derek, it does. That’s the purpose of the high pressure part of the trinary switch.

Still gets up to 30bar on the HP side of the circuit if run like that. I learned some new words from the airco chap who looked at it.
I suppose it's possible that the compressor can live with that, but if there are any weaknesses anywhere in the system you'll find them very quickly.

Hi Tim,

The high pressure trinary switch opens at 31.4 bar to disable the compressor. If you have a car which is reaching 30 bar you need to find the fault starting with fan operation and condenser condition.
