No worries - I was led to believe that it was just the chrome/silver grill that was damaged so was hoping to find an otherwise immaculate car that just needed a new radiator and maybe some loose induction or vacuum pipe reconnecting.

I have the same colour and spec car but cloth and have done 149k so I was hoping to replace it with this then just swap a few bits over but mines in better condition so pretty gutted :-(

If it was just the mechanical faults I would be of the same mind (after all I do have a very suitable donor vehicle! :-) ...but its the crash damage - maybe if it was taken apart and reassembled more carefully it would be ok but I get the feeling there's more to it than that which is a real shame. I guess the supporting panels need replacing too as they didn't fit right either.

The problem is most modern vehicles are designed to fold or crush even under what appears to be a minor accident. I have seen cars which on the surface appears to be no more than a cracked bumper but once stripped have more damage. The first indication is when the bumper bar does not bolt up easily and the holes need to be enlarged or if it does fit is at an odd angle compared with the road surface.

A Mini I looked at recently for somebody looked like it just had the front bumper badly fitted, when I investigated some of the fixing bolts were missing because the holes did not align with mountings.

I am sure somebody will buy it because of the mileage alone.
