Not quite what I had planned..................
............................................ But a huge THANK YOU to Allen for coming to my rescue and ferrying me first to the chemist then onto the doctors and then taking me to the Minor Injury Unit at Liskard.
A huge horse fly bite had taken it's toll on my arm, got bitten on both arms but the left one was the worse. It got so bad and swollen that I could bend my arm. The nurse put my arm in a sling to keep my arm up. Got to drink lots of fluids but alas no ale or any malts. Got a doctors appointment tomorrow so I should get it all sorted.

Those horse fly's are nasty little blighters. Lydia got bit at the Castle Howard meet and her finger swelled up and she could not bend it.
Hope you feel better soon Bob.... |

I was wearing shorts pottering in the garden a few days ago. Saw something, dunno what, black and no bigger than your average fly, land on my shin. Next thing it took a bite like a bleedin' Rottweiler out of me . . . . mind you, it was the last thing it did!

Are you sure this isn'e a case of getting something to bite you just to get pampered by young nurses?

You have to be very careful when we get this kind of hot weather for a long time. You get all kinds of flying ‘animals’ coming in from the continent. My friends wife usually ends up in hospital this time of the year with some kind of bite, and she already has been. Had to have some antibiotics that upset her warfarin count. Great getting old aye it.
