Did you get this done?

No not yet, I'm not sure where I could get it to get the various issues mentioned (fluid, cable, solenoids) checked? Any ideas? - i'm in the east mids (leicester area). thanks.

The fluid change is a bit of a pain but easy enough to DIY if you have somewhere level to do it.

I've just done one and with the great "How to" on here all was relatively straightforward.

I'm not a million miles away if you fancy giving it a go.

If you're definitely after a garage there's Austin Garages near Burton on Trent http://www.austingarages.co.uk/

I've not used them personally but have seen many recommendations.

Hope that helps.

Andy.

Probably a sticking solenoid but there was a fault in some jatco boxes on pre 2002 cars where there was a batch that had a faulty reverse piston which developed a crack in it. I would have thought that if it were that it would have shown by now though.
Jatco made a modified replacement part.

Thanks again for the replies. I will get the fluid level checked first, though it was done last year i guess it's possible it's leaked? If not that then will get the cable checked as that sounds reasonably easy (and cheap), else will look at the solenoids. thanks.

Was the correct N402 specification fluid used Richard? You probably don't know.
Here's a list for you. Don't use any others.
