Default Steering wheel control cable kit

Dear All

Recently had a new Sony DAB unit fitted into my ZT.
Unfortunately the steering wheel control cable which I had bought (despite advise from the manufacturer) was wrong
Rick-Sta (who fitted the radio for me ) believes that the one i gave him is "for the earlier cars, which I believe had the larger ball pins plug connection, your car just has the standard plugs which plug directly into the head unit"

He thinks this is the correct one -

Can anyone confirm?

Cheers

Andrew

The steering wheel control cables are Blue/Purple and Blue/Orange in 75s and ZTs (except ZTs originally fitted with the Kenwood stereo). Depending on the originally fitted stereo they will be in the 17 pin BMW connector, the grey power 8 pin ISO connector, or on their own in a green mini ISO connector, there is a different adapter lead for each type.
The ZT originally with a Kenwood stereo is different and needs a bit of alteration to the wiring.

If they are wired up correctly then they should work once programmed.

I have a Naval Star where we (well Jeff in realty) could not get the SWC’s to work - so I have a different steering wheel to go on as well. So I would be interested in people’s advice and expertise here
