Default Traction control fault

Hi Folks. So, my R75 has recently developed an intermittent traction control fault where the the actuator jams and I end up with a warning on the message centre. Currently, it's clearing after the engine compartment warms up and a restart. So, I've not checked the actuator gears but assume that they are the culprit. Can anyone tell me if these parts off eBay will replace the presumably worn-out ones in the TC actuator? Thanks

I have an old one somewhere I can dig out for you to look at if it helps?

Just beat me to it Dave, had the same one up on eBay

Looked at the gears and the list said to fit, most of the cars were way newer than ours, suspiciously so.

Keep well

Mike

As you are just across the road from me David and if it's not too much trouble, I would very much appreciate having a butcher's at your old spare. Tx!

the traction control actuator cog looks like the cogs in the link but has a rubber stopper on one side, however ive had a few that the stopper and a small bit of cog breaks off and jams the unit up.
Once the small bit is removed i have found the actuator keeps working.
Same unit as Bmw used as a throttle control unit on earlier cars around the same era
e39 etc

Why not simply remove the TC and throw it in the bin?

Seems like a much easier fix to me

That's not a bad idea, except that some buyer might want the car in its original spec. But if I did remove it, what would I need to do to make the car think it doesn't have one fitted? T4 session with Big Russ?

Yes, a ZCS change and recode with Big Russ, take the button off the dash and who's to know it was ever there
