Nothing wrong with the company, it’s the individual driver. Our Hermes driver is fantastic, and very obliging. Known him for yonks.

I'm not upset about delivery time just about them not knowing who they have asked to transport the item.

ECP, go to the shop they are great, on line
I ordered an oil filter, air filter and pollen filter. Oil filter turned up yesterday, I'm still waiting the other two. A previous on line order last year..... never turned up

I can take a delay in answering the phone, p&p and delivery but not knowing who the courier is, that's a whole different ball game.

Sometimes ignorance is bliss.
My brother sails through car life, and his only worry is if he should put petrol or diesel in it😱
Yet, he still motors on, blissfully care free of “what might happen”.

Try not to stress about your delivery, until it really doesn’t turn up in 3 weeks time.
Are you really in a panic for a sub-frame?

I have to put in an "Attaboy" for Rimmers as well.
Being on the other side of the world no other UK supplier
I use is as efficient as Rimmers.
Their note "Pallet Service" would only be a descriptor of the type of delivery
not the actual carrier. I am surprised that their shipping department didn't have the info at hand. Could be they are having personnel issues due to the
covid situation.
Hope your subframe turns up soon!

see my previous post, I say "I can take a delay in answering the phone, p&p and delivery "

The thread is not about delivery time, it is about not knowing who has been asked to do the delivery, being given the wrong company name and by process, putting the wrong company name on email.

I am willing to hold covid 19 responsible for the delay in answering the phone, P&P and delivery time scales but I cant see how to blame it for not knowing.

Apparently they will in due course be implementing a new system so fingers crossed this issue is engineered out.

From the delivery companies web site last night the sub frame should arrive today, hopefully the driver will be able to back up the drive to unload. Will a front sub frame fit in a Tourer? If not it will be on the trailer

It won’t fit in a tourer, it will fit on the roof bars though, be warned though it takes a lot to lift it up there!!

A trailer is the best option..

I recently took one to bits (Dale is having the subframe) but there's no way I'd want to lift one on to roof bars, the risk of damage is just too great. I'd stick it in a trailer all day long as it will be the best option at both ends of the journey. They really do weigh a fair bit and are made stronger than the discs in someone's back.

I think we just have to be patient at the moment. Some services are still running very well- MechSepc at Doncaster sent me an MGB gearbox on a pallet on Monday afternoon, it was here at 8.00am on Wednesday - I was impressed (that was via National Pallets). I had a tracking number, but the website still shows it as in the depot, even though it has been delivered - I don't think updating tracking info is high priority at the moment.

Amazon deliveries seem to have dried up altogether round here- we ordered some gardening items two weeks ago, they have been despatched over a week ago, but no sign of them arriving as yet.
BTW, I wonder how long Rimmers may stay open for business in the current pandemic - Moss have closed down their warehouses and are not taking orders at the moment, which is bad news for MG restorers trying to get on with their projects in the lock-down !

Take care folks

Peter

oh goodness, no, roof bars are to high for me to lift that weight.
Thanks trikey for letting me know wont fit in a Tourer.
If driver cant reverse up drive and wont help carry then it will be the trailer but even that height will be hard work, if at all possible
