Default Tobacco style health warnings on petrol pumps & flight tickets!

"Experts writing in the British Medical Journal (BMJ) have called for warnings telling people that burning fossil fuels worsens the climate emergency, which will have major impacts on health".

Well......
If the rumours are true that we're about to, due to over demand, going to imminently start to have power cuts left right and centre....
And tbf the answer to that will be to reopen the coal mines and recommission the coal fired power stations that are 'on ice' currently....

So there's every chance they may get even more upset yet

Or maybe it's due to today's date rather than the climate emergency.

I thought that too but it was published yesterday in all local newspapers & online car sites https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/3...s-petrol-pumps

Must be another way of the "Greta effect" flight shaming.

And just the other week - buried amongst the headline news, the govt started the decarbonisation plan consultation. A plan which completely ignores the reality of the current transport situation on many fronts.

Here's a link to the Telegraph article (sorry, but it was the first result that covered the subject properly) resplendent with a picture of the slimy toad Grant Schapps

Here's a quick summary of the fella

Quote:
The former Tory Party Chairman was forced to stand down from a ministerial post following allegations of bullying and was found to have lied when he claimed to have never taken a second job. He made front page news when it emerged he had a dual identity. Before becoming an MP, Mr Shapps founded HowToCorp, a web marketing firm offering books on how to get “stinking rich” very quickly using the pseudonym Michael Green.

And it's been revealed he carried on being 'Michael Green' as an MP without declaring the fact (when he should have). The above quote from the Grauniad is just the tip of Iceberg for this excuse for a public servant. The Deeper you look into him the more shady dealings and self advancement and self enrichment you'll find. Even his Tory colleagues wouldn't buy a used car from him.

Sorry Pete, that wasn't intended as political. Or at least no further than the relevance of the decarbonisation plan to motoring: something we should be concerned about on this forum. The rest relating to Grant Schapps was intended to illustrate the character of the person heading this up, I deliberately avoided voicing any opinion on his politics.
