Default Goodyear

I'm thinking of changing from Continentals tyres on my ZT and trying these Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5.
Some feedback on them from peeps who have them before I become a guinea pig would be much appreciated.

Well I've had Asymmetric 2 and was very happy with them in all conditions. Good all rounders and not bad value. I had Vredestein Ultrac Vorti after the Goodyears and they have been just as good, and even better value for money.

I highly rate the f1's and have had them on a few cars including a relatively high performance car. They are quite fast wearing on heavy cars though, but I didn't notice too much difference between the contisport 5's they replaced. They would be my choice of fast road tyre if not for the Michelin pilot sport 4. They have got rave reviews everywhere and are on par price wise with the f1's. That will be the tyre that goes on my track day car when I come to replace the tyres later this year.
Otherwise not a bad choice by any stretch and better than most.

Hi Dave. John had continental tyres on his Connie and was always saying how quick they wore out. I have been having Goodyear Efficentgrip Performance on mine for quite a few years now. They wear well and never had any probs in the wet.I had asymmetric tyres on the SD1 3.5 and I found that they were not very good. I think if the suspension was not originally set up for asymmetric tyres, it is not a good idea.I still have a wheel from the SD1 in the back with an asymmetric tyre on and it shows how it wore more on the one side. Will have a look tomorrow and give you a bell.

Continentals were the best for wear on my saloon as well as being the quietest. I've got a set of Efficient Grips on the Tourer and they are very good indeed. I went through a set of Pilots on the ZT unnervingly faster than a bad curry and replaced them with Eagles, which I found were perhaps the better all-round choice too.

I was looking at conti 6's but the handling characteristics were 83% compared to the goodyear's at 95%.
Wet and dry grip are 95% to conti's 93%
Wear rate is 90% compared to conti's of just 58%

I had these wheels and tyres fitted to my old 190 and never once did they give me an exciting moment.
Putting them on my zt derv things are a bit different, they dont inspire the same confidence, it's like you're waiting for either end to slip if you "drive" the car.
Some of the motorway driving of late has also made me question them.

The goodyear's get a very good write up and peoples testimonials as to their performance speak volumes.

So I think I'll give them a go.

I've got three Eagle 5s on my car only had them on there for about 3 months however so a touch early to judge wear.

Performance wise they seem to grip absolutely fine wet and dry going round tight bends and stop fine also. I don't scream about but put my foot down when its required and within the speed limit.

I read all the test reviews and they seem to do well on most criteria and they're not really that much price wise above the mid range budgets on offer.

Good information guys, Thanks!
I have Landsails on my ZT190. They were on the car when I bought it and I was sceptical (Tyres from Thailand?)
It turns out that their performance is very good and they don't seem to be fast wearing. They don't seem overly noisy either but I do have quite a loud exhaust.
I should get another year or two out of them then I will have to decide on replacements.
