I see that the government travel "advice" seems to control refunds from Atol. This is currently 30 days (17 March to 16th April) and I'm guessing that this will be so to avoid travel companies having to reimburse all the customers in one go (sensible really). My booking t will be in the next announced "advice". I do have travel insurance and did pay by credit card, so I'm hopefully covered all ways. NCP have already offered a discount code for the full amount of my car parking for future use. My chronic asthma (declared to insurers) will add another string to the cancellation/refund bow if needed!

Two couples I know went to USA just as this all started, Fortunately, friends of theirs have a house they let them use. Went from hero to zero in 2 weeks, Daytona Bike Week was a blow, now there are beaches that are closed, said they feel like they are on a zombie movie set. Fly back on 24th.

Well, we went, and had a thoroughly good time. Kept ourselves to ourselves, did a lot of walking (and driving) didn’t eat out, used the well-stocked village shop.

Home now, will start decorating the hall, landing and stairs on Monday.........

One of my customers is a hotel in the Cotswolds, he was telling me yesterday he is having one of the best March's he has ever had . Apparently so many hotels have shut they are coming to him instead.

Got the cancellation of my Blackpool roller coaster trip in April. Spoke with a contact at Fairford yesterday, and the suggestions I made were not rebuffed; the Royal International Air Tattoo is a massive event with participants from all around the Globe, set for July, I think not, though it could be postponed.

Default Royal International Air Tattoo at Fairford is OFF!

Just been told, it's off, I understand but am well disappointed. Got to cancel the accommodation now.

Nothing too far, and we didn't pay anything up front, but we were due to go away in the caravan in a few weeks, but have now cancelled that. 2 reasons. First being that there were specific things we wanted to do, all of which have announced they are closed indefinitely. And second, assuming the whole country has gone completely bonkers with idi0ts even panic buying extra fridges and freezers so they can then go and panic buy even more food they don't need, I didn't want to have to try and drive around an area I don't know, looking for food we can cook in the caravan!

Road kill comes cheap and takes up less freezer space.

This week had official confirmation that our Canaries holiday is cancelled and also so far 3 Theatre breaks, one of which was an overnight stop, pretty certain there will be more to come. At least we will receive full refunds / reschedule offers and /or credit voucher (credit voucher from holiday extra's where we booked one nights accom and 11 days subsequent on site airport parking), hay ho......
