I think you've earned the right Phil - scary times. I really hope the markets bounce back, that really is too much to lose .

Fingers crossed for you & Jessica,

Two minor events now cancelled due to various participants having tests, and having those worrying respiratory type illnesses.
Six more events lined up, and I expect at the moment that four of them will be lost.

Ah, oh dear, five of them.

Surely money is only "lost" if you sell when the market is down. If and when the market recovers investments value will go up provided you did not sell. It may well be a good time to invest. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Early 10 day break to Canaries in three weeks, and on top of that we make a point of going to the Theatre at least twice a month and these are booked up to 12 month in advance to get good seats, who knows how many of those will be cancelled... Oh and the first Nano meet of the year as well.

He's not complaining though, and says he finds it rather exciting (the markets, not the virus) and is still up quite considerably on his original investments. He has always been canny with money so will no doubt come out smiling when the dust settles.

people will make a killing on shares, they or at last those in the know, will buy low and sell after a bounce

I am booked for Portugal at end of May. Balance of payment is due on Thursday. Do I cancel and lose my deposit, or do think it will be cancelled for me? If that happens, will I get a refund? Aarrgghh...

That's why he finds it exciting. Not something I would be comfortable doing though, I'm far too much of a worrier. I really feel for folk like Phil when the markets take a tumble. Hopefully they'll recover in due course without too many casualties in the process.
