None of my business. I can't help but think a tabloid paper was going to run a 'story' or someone is blackmailing him about this, and he has suddenly felt the need to get ahead of it to limit the damage that that may do.

Trolls on social media seem to believe that the likes of Schofield should not have a personal life, and feel betrayed that his sexuality has been 'hidden'. (It hasn't, it has most likely been suppressed). But why should we care or why should we even know, even be offended that he is gay straight or bi?

Did anyone care about frankie Howerd or Kenneth Williams?

Again, it is none of my business. Good luck.to him and his family.

The real news in this country rarely gets into the mainstream.

I avoid all these morning "lady chatty" programmes,..... he always struck me as a bit of an "old women." anyway.
He must have felt he's been skating on thin ice for years.
All these Gay types never shut up about themselves,.........alway banging on about it.

That a bit of a statement!

I find most showbiz types like to talk about themselves, not just the gay ones.

There doesn't seem much that's gay about him. More of a tragedy.
Not for him though, he has only considered himself. I wonder how his family will weather the inevitable storm. Despite a more enlightened world there are always the critics coming out of the woodwork. Some would think a marriage of 20 odd years and children would count for continued discretion. I suppose that's show biz, no such thing as bad news.

Think I would have been more devastated if Holly Willoughby said she was a lesbian

Sorry Trikey,
Perhaps I should have said they like talking about their sexuality.
