Before I put the wheel back on I tried a 1/2" socket and just like you said it fitted very tight, so I'll get one of the ring spanners on it with a bit of heat to get it moving. |

Popped down to Bournemouth Car Key Company to get my totally cream crackered keys refurbished. They did a nice job and now have two pristine remote keys and the shells of the old ones - which as they suggested - will get me into the car should I lock the proper keys in the car.
It was going to and from here that I noticed the broken down 1.8T 75 Tourer with its front offside wheel at a very odd angle due - presumably - to some sort of drive shaft failure. |

Started removing the centre console ready for the fitting of the replacement handbrake lever tomorrow. Couldn't get the cigar lighter plug disconnected so left it until tomorrow as I've just about run out of patience. It's been a long day sorting an issue on another manufactures diesel that two garages couldn't sort, second garage brought to us once they had given up

Had a pleasant 120 mile round trip drive to Felixstowe for work today and on the way back decided to stop for a bacon roll for lunch as you do only to find the van was attached to a Firefrost red tourer. Had a chat with the owner to find she had no idea the club existed but will have a look when she got home. Apparently her dog loves the heated front seats too

My ZT came with a beautiful unmarked dash but I just don't feel ''right'' if I'm not bathing in walnut so spent the day removing it taking extra care not to damage anything as it really is as good as it was the day it was fitted

For my sins, I've had the wheels off the ZT, brakes pulled apart then reassembled after cleaning to cure an annoying squeak I noticed while test driving an ECM repair. Beats going to the pub on a nice sunny day I suppose Brian |

In fairness the old dash didn't creak or groan, which is unusual I know, but yeah, PPD walnut can't be beaten imho |
