Our German Shepherd Poppy died in 2002, and her stepson Barney went in 2006. Still miss them every day.

Thoughts are with you - it is so hard.

Please don't hold it against me for suggesting this now, but when you are thinking of a new partnership, please have a look at GSD2000 Rescue and Rehome, and consider giving a home to one of our rescue dogs.
We have 12 in kennels at the moment all looking for a new 'Forever Home' and there are always more that we would like to help if we could.
We are always in need of experienced people to offer homes to GSDs that have come into our care.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

All the happiness that used to be

Soon my eyes will close
Soon I'll find repose
And in dreams, you're always near to me

I'll see you in my dreams
And then I'll hold you in my dreams

I don't care what anybody else says, a dog or cat or any kind of pet, are just as much a member of the family as a human being, and therefore losing a pet, is just as distressing as losing a close family member. Thoughts with you, been there twice.

Sorry for your loss, we we know what is feels like as we unexpectedly lost a dog called Soc last year due to a spine tumour. It is very upsetting, we now have a puppy called Teddy who we have had since December but we will never forget Soc.

Take care
