If you notice a little sag in your flat roof....
Make sure you don't catch yourself saying " that will be ok till next year"....
like a load of wet Weetabix with cracked felt holding it together...

I paid to have an extra 3" of crossfall added plus a silicone layer, all new insulation and all new boards then 3 layers of quality felt all hot bonded...

I did the workshop roof 6 years ago using marine ply boarding with EPDM on top. Not easy getting it up on the roof as it is a one-piece covering, but well worth it- still looks a treat and not so much as a dribble gets through.

Hmm just about to do this with our dormer roof. Getting rid of the felt and putting down EPDM rubber. Wouldn't go with felt anymore and GRP cant be laid in less than 5c temperatures.

I'm going to be changing a flat roof here in the summer, already dreading it!
It's only the garage, so will probably be a traditional ply-and-felt job. I don't do heights...

Our flat roof is an original 5" thick concrete slab, with later insulation added on top, then marine ply, then the horrible black stuff. After now, around 40+ years, it really needs redoing, but the slab stops any penetration.
