Brim it again when you get down to 1/4.
Calculate (method below)

Divide the number of lt needed to refill the tank by 4.55 (4.55 lt to 1 gallon)
Divide the miles covered by the number of gallons used. Simples.

Eg: Ive just filled up with 33.81 lts.
therefore, 33.81 lt divided by 4.55 = 7.43 gallons.
I have travelled 366 miles since my previous fill up.
therefore, 366 divided by 7.43 = 49.26 mpg.

option 5 in the onboard diagnostics gives average l/100km

details of how to use the OBD are here

including using the correction factor to make it more accurate
