Default Where to put sealant - pics please!!!??

Hi Guys

I already knew I had dodgy sunroof drains, and as soon as I can drive a fellow member is going to help me with this, but my boot also has water in the N/S corner. I know where to seal the side clips, but it looks to be coming from higher up. (Light seal already replaced by a previous owner)

I am thinking its the back window, as this is also steaming up at night.

I've heard the creeping crack cure stuff is good, but could someone show me IN PICTURES where to run the sealant for both the back window and boot hinge? I am useless when it comes to understanding descriptions, and pictures speak a 1000 words.

Hopefully it won't require too much acrobatics on my part, as I still can't move properly or stretch much after the op.

Thanks in advance

Dawn

Thank you for that. In my current state there is no way I dare attempt it however. If my clips were broke, I wouldn't be able to take the screen out as I can't lift of stretch for weeks yet. I seem doomed not to be able to get leak free.

glad it helped you.
have a look at this post as well might be just as good without removing the clips.

Right, so I just remove the trim under the window and apply this stuff? What if the clips break taking the trim off?

you would have to be careful removing the trim. i have not had a proper look yet if you could just lift the trim carefully without removing it completely.

i had a major leak in my boot recently. have sealed the rear lights. rear wing trim and boot vents with silicone.

at the weekend i will be sealing the window clips..
the sealer mentioned is very watery so will run into the smallest gaps and seal them.
will post back at the weekend..

If you peel back the rubber from the base of the window, you'll see the clips, just apply silicone or any sealant around them, from above also if you peel the rubber back. I use this stuff, very effective

Thank you. I will order the stuff and hopefully by the time it arrives will be well enough to have a go. I am still a bit sore.

Note that the Captain Tolley's stuff seals by evaporation of water from the liquid gloop you apply to the leaky area. It may not be as successful in cold/wet weather as it is in Summer.

I had a look earlier and the rubber doesn't feel like it will "peel" anywhere. Its more like hard plastic at the moment, presumably with the cold. I need to do something though as the factory fit sat nav is in the boot, and the inside windows are covered in water. If I could drive I could take it to be fixed, but I have at least four more weeks to go.
