Default Lazy door lock motors

It seems I nowadays have to push the unlock button two or three times for all doors to unlock. This has gradually bacome worse, earlier it was usually only the RH rear door that wouldn't always unlock on the first push of the button. Now the RH front door is also getting lazier >:-(

Any suggestions?

I had this problem with the front passenger door , which would only raise the pin halfway on the second press. Lubricated everything in sight but it didn't help .It was however ok in summer if we had a warm day ! Eventually got a replacement lock motor off ebay and it is now fine

Door latches are a "hardy perennial" with these cars, usually the driver's one as that is the one that gets the most use. Costs around £65 each, and guess what - MADE IN GERMANY !!

All mne are "lazy" on the V6 once I can get hold of some replacement motors that should sort it out.

They are very similar to the Vis motors but with a longer shaft. As it's not an easy task to swap them over I'll wait until I've got the new motors before I attempt it.

Hi Fille,
I've just replaced my drivers door lock for the same reason, kindly supplied by pmessling, and I've kept the old lock for investigation....

A guy at work had similar problems with a Vauxhall Omega, and it turned out the fault was a microswitch in series with the lock motor, the contacts were high resistance, so the motor didn't operate at full power.

I think the fault could be similar on ours, certainly mine started working OK if you "exercised" it a few times (i.e. clean up the switch contacts).

BTW, ignore the Haynes instruction to "remove the door glass to access the lock". With a bit of care, and releasing the lower window channel bolt, you can wiggle the lock mech out.

hth,
Pete.
