Another source of "around the cage" vibration it´s the hydromount.
https://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/for...d.php?t=279297 Easy to spot if it´s broken, just ask somebody to play in first gear with the brake padel pressed of course. Place attention on your left engine mounting, If you see that the engine moves up you´ll probably be able to see the hydromount cracked. Easy to change even without the special tool needed but it´s a little expensive. Cheers...!!!! Joel Antonio. |

Well do much much for a lot you saying oh it's the lower one.... wrong!
It's just been fitted and did dam all Like you Antonio the mechanic I use said to fit the hydro one. Mine is auto so would need it in drive and see what happened. Oh and yes the bottom one is a 10ish minute job but I hate lying under cars so he did it on the ramps. Only out about 15 mins but no difference at all, b!@#$d |

Mine´s are Auto so same thing,, put on drive a hit the gas a little... you´ll see if your engine tries to jump out from the frame...
PS: I did change one on my Tourey, "without special tool" just a little bit of imagination (metal bar...) Cheers: Joel Antonio |

I only suggested it could be as it matched my cars symptoms - not that it was that as no one can tell for sure without looking. |

That's all any of us can do Dawn.
Easy enough to remove a lower mount, and once it is off the car, inspect it and then decide if it actually needs replacing or not. |

Totally agree with Dawn & Mike. Any answer on any of these posts on this forum, is at the end of the day only an opinion that is given on the description posted by the OP, therefore investigation is always needed to make sure before committing yourself to purchase of any part etc.

However you have the benefit of having Antonio the "mechanic" (??) looking at your car, so why didn't he investigate the problem properly? He could have put the car on a lift and checked the condition of the lower mount, and to be perfectly honest he should have done so. That way you could have saved yourself from wasting a few quid, and it would have saved you from blaming people attempting to help you for your mechanics failings. Never mind Brian |

Now, now, boys and girls, let's keep the forum civil....
Members will do their best to give their time, help and advice on possible problems and solutions, but it's up to you to make the final diagnosis (or your trusted technician). Worth remembering that free advice is worth exactly what you paid for it

At least it was the cheapest and easiest mount you found out WASN'T responsible! So, fair warned, check out the hydromount carefully before changing that. As said, if Antonio had just taken a quick look at the tear drop, you could have saved the time wasted waiting for the part to arrive. These things are frustrating, we just have to take a deep breath, tighten our belts, and shake the moths out of our wallets! In my case, the hoped -for teardrop mount fault turned out to be a new clutch needed! Sigh.
