Did not think you could tow an auto. Maybe I am worrying too much after all the distance involved is not massive - would not think twice about 500 ish miles in this country.

Come on Steve. No need to worry . We went down through France to Italy, other side of Naples in my bubble 1997 25 220 diesel model. Covered 3700 miles and never missed a beat. During my ownership of the 75, I would think I have done around 1,000/2000 miles a year on the continent, and touch wood, although I carry a few things with me ‘in case’, everything has been ok. Mind you, I look after it with regular oil, filter changes. They will all be done again before I go, including gear box oil change, it’s due. If your car is looked after I am sure there is nothing to worry about. Looking forward to this jaunt.

Just a thought, would it be worth adding a section to the original post listing any key things we need to know about driving in Europe in the countries we'll be in? I've never driven outside of the UK so not familiar with any requirements we may need to meet to be able to drive over there legally.

Of course we'll need to check that our insurance and breakdown covers us for this, but are there other requirements such as GB badges, things we need to have in the car if we're stopped by police etc?

All on the www to find Rick..
Here's a couple to start with mate.
There may of course be some changes after March
https://www.rac.co.uk/drive/travel/driving-abroad/
https://www.rac.co.uk/drive/travel/d...oad/checklist/

I have one of these.. https://www.screwfix.com/p/ring-euro...245250&ds_rl=1 and one of these https://www.screwfix.com/p/hilka-pro...82mm/6495r#_=p

My tip would be to be very careful if you drink alcohol, many countries have much lower drink drive limits than here in the UK, and I seem to remember that in the Netherlands you can be fined if you knowingly fail to report a drink driver.. This may or may not still be valid.

OH and be careful of coffee and CAKE....lol
Cheers Ian

As far as I'm concerned David this hotel is the only accommodation option on offer. So if a name is on the list then I take it that the named person will be staying with the group. However if anyone is not happy with my selection then they can ask to be removed from the attendance list and make their own plans.
Cheers Ian
