Default CDT clutch slave

I replaced my master cylinder with a tazu around 1k miles ago. I've re bled the clutch once since then and it needs bleeding again. My suspicion is therefore that now, the slave needs doing. However, there doesn't seem to be any fluid leaking under the gearbox. Would you expect to see fluid leaking from the bell housing area if the slave is giving up?

usually there is but if the leak is small the fluid can get absorbed in dirt inside the bell housing and never make it out. Before you diagnose slave failure check all the unions on the Tazu are tight.

Usually yes, but there have been instances where this hasn't been the case (in the case of a very minor leak letting air into the system).
If you're doing the Slave, you'd be well advised to change the clutch too while you're in there - it's not a job you want to have to do twice.
I have the Slave cylinders here: Slave Cylinder - R75 / MG ZT
Or the full systems here:

I read your offer in your shop, I'm not too far from southport. If I go ahead after I check the tazu, is your fitting offer still on?

Hi,

The hydraulic system works only with a fluid displacement of 5ml .
So difficult to see unless the reservoir is completely empty.

Have a look at my recent post to detect leaks.

Possible places:

-Tazu union joint (not tighten enough)
-Quick fit connector
-Main slave seal
-slave bleeder

Good luck

Have bled the clutch this eve and all is well again. An inspection of the unions revealed that the one connected to to quick fit connector was tight but I got an extra quarter of a turn on it. It was a little moist but certainly not dripping. Fingers crossed!

Excellent, hopefully a quick fix! The unions are a common leakage point on the Tazu system if not fitted tightly.
