Just to confirm that when the ignition is switched on you'll only see 12v for two seconds. When cranking it will be present continuously.

Yep understood. I got my good lady to turn on the ignition while I was on the multi-meter so I could test for priming voltage. I'll test again this evening for cranking voltage though as a double check.

Dan.

Hi Simon. I've had a go at this tonight as the below pic. Unfortunately the pump is still not starting, and the hazards are also still coming on. Also checked the pump connector voltage on cranking and I'm not getting 12V.
Cheers, Dan

Hmmm, curiouser and curiouser.

At the inertia switch connector have you got 12v on the purple/green wire?

I've just had a check this morning, and I'm not getting 12v between purple/green and ground at the inertia switch plug.

Cheers, Dan.

Thanks Dan. Please check fuse 28 (30 amps) in the passenger compartment fusebox.

Simon.--If you investigate the length of time the pump runs I think you will find it's more like 30 seconds.-- ( Without cranking. )------

Hi Simon, just checked that fuse and seems fine. Swapped for a spare as a doube check and no change still. Cheers, Dan.

Hi Jon,

According to RAVE, for your diesel it's "approximately one minute" and for the petrol KV6 (the car we're discussing here) it's two seconds (as I quoted).

I was going to say that they're like chalk and cheese but I think that treacle (heavy fuel oil) and champagne (refined petroleum spirit) might be more fitting!

Thanks for keeping me on my toes.

Simon

Does it read 0 ohms when removed and checked with your multimeter? If so, do you have 12v incoming to that fuseholder?

Simon
