Hi Boriss,

I have the TE data sheet for this relay and the limiting continuous current through the contacts is relative to the ambient temperature. At 23 degrees C it's 60 amps and at 85 degrees it's 40 amps. The sellers seem to be quoting the figure at 85 degrees.

If the part number is V23134 B52 C642 then you can buy with confidence. Here is this part for sale on eBay and here it is at Farnell. If you click on "Technical datasheet" on the Farnell link you can see for yourself!

Hi Boriss,

Thanks for the extremely useful data.

Your control box is working perfectly. The fault lies with the fan motor. Did you fit the new brushes from Engineering Carbon Products?

Yes, worn brushes! One of them will be worn to beyond its minimum effective length. This will be on the low speed connections which is why your motor isn't responding to the demist test.

Arctic has posted an excellent pictorial guide of how to expose the brushes and renew them. You'll find that the brush on the purple (not pink ) wire is o.k. as it gets little use. The two to look out for are connected to the red and black wires.

One thing at a time Boriss! Fit a new brush to your fan motor and let us know how your cooling system performs then.
