Default water water everywhere!!!!!!!!!!!

Got round to remove the carpets this morning, well what can i say, passenger side bone dry but the drivers side was swimming, removed at least a gallon of stinking water from the carpets with the bissell, garage fitted new rear light seals late last year so i popped em out on sunday and put a bit of sealant on and refitted, rained all day yesterday and boot stayed dry so hopefully ive cured it, big thanks to trikey for cracking the reebs bolts as they where tight, strange seats have been out a few times in the last twelve months,

Out of interest have you identified the ingress point as definately being the rear seal or is water still getting in from somewhere else too?

Removing the carpets is a big job luckiy my leak (wherever it was from) mysteriously stopped

thinking its just the light seals, plenums are dry, as is the passenger side, got all the interior out at min bar drivers seat, it hammered with rain yesterday and boots stayed dry thus far, taking the carpets out wasnt as bad as i thought really and pleased i did, hoping for lots of rain before weekend to check for ingress

It caused so many problems when mine let in water that I deceided to drill a coupe of small drain holes in the wheel well as well as fixing the leak.....it saves checking the boot every time it rains.
Or...you could always fit a bilge pump in there!

I could swear some water was getting in somewhere around my clutch pedal where there is a rubber seal. When i gave it a gentle prod a small amount of water trickled into the drivers footwell. A possible secondary cause?

Advice on here was to put sheets of newspaper down once you've removed the carpet and dried the floor to help identify locations of leaks. The sunday star comes recommended for this...

Just out of interest (and I'm sure someone else may have suggested this) but do you have a sunroof?
