From the BBC website today:-

Another 'fallow year' as Glastonbury is cancelled
Worthy Farm will have to wait another year to see the crowds return as the pandemic puts paid to the 2021 Glastonbury Festival. Organisers Michael and Emily Eavis had hoped to reopen the festival in June after cancelling last year, but said they were not able to make it happen "in spite of our efforts to move heaven and earth". Ticket holders from the October 2019 sale will be able to roll over their deposit to guarantee the chance to buy a ticket in 2022. A lesser known festival - the Dorset Knob Throwing and Frome Valley Food Festival - also announced it was cancelled. Celebrating traditional savoury biscuits known as knobs, events such as knob-and-spoon racing, splat the knob, knob darts, and pin the knob on the Cerne Abbas giant will have to wait until May 2022.

Not sure I like the sound of splat the knob and knob darts - it all sounds a touch dangerous to me
Morning all,it’s freezing out there with no frost or snow, just the wind.
Rod you shouldn’t call yourself a sad old g I t. You are at the least a sad old f a r t

Following up from my last post

My Nan who had 5 children of her own, lost 2 daughters at a young age 34 & 33,(one being my Mother),then looked after and bought up the 7 grandchildren.

Every day she would walk a round trip of about 4 miles to the local shopping area to buy food for the table for her now extended family, looking for the cheapest and wholesome things she could buy on her small daily budget to feed us all.(no social handouts in those days).

She could cook anything and I remember how good it used to taste,we always had to sit up the table as a family at mealtimes and had to ask to get down from the table, what a woman she was.

I have to admit - your description is probably more accurate, even though I don't eat sprouts
